Laxman Karki
CEO & Founder
Born in 1989 in the remote village of Sotang, Solukhumbu, Laxman Karki began his journey in tourism as a porter soon after finishing school. With dedication and sincerity, he quickly rose to become an assistant guide and later founded Mountain Ascend Treks.
Despite his young age, Mr. Karki had already gained significant experience in the field, which helped him earn the trust and support of many international clients and friends. Over time, he traveled extensively across the globe, learning and implementing best tourism practices in his company.
Fluent in English, Korean, and other Asian languages, Mr. Karki is also active in social work. He supports education and health initiatives in rural areas and plans to contribute a portion of his company’s profits to uplift underprivileged communities.
His passion for tourism led him to achieve a Guinness World Record for filming a music video at the world’s highest point. He is also the founder of a public foundation focused on community welfare.
Hyeong Rae Lee
Managing Director
Warm greetings to you and your family from Mountain Ascend Treks.
Mr. Lee is the Managing Director of Mountain Ascend Treks. He was born and raised in Busan South Korea. He started career as a trekking guide from the age of 18. During that time, He learned how to make clients happy with highest level of service. After becoming fully educated and sharp in trekking and mountain guide, He became manager of Mountain Ascend Treks to give the service that the trekkers have longed for.
He never compromises in providing the best service, which you can see in his enthusiasm that looks for outdoor activities, fun-loving people, and adventurous trekking routes. He is working as a Mountain Leader giving you service, and making you happy on your trip.
Kiran Giri
Consultant
Born in Solu, the Khumbu Region (Everest Region), Kiran Giri is an expert in trekking, especially in this region. He started his career as an assistant guide 10 years ago, now he is an experienced guide in Mountain Ascend Treks. A soft-spoken and helpful person, he has made his clients happy with his service in Annapurna, Langtang, Mustang, and Everest regions. Besides these, he has successfully completed Basic Mountaineering Course, High Mountain Rescue Training and Wilderness first aid course.
Gopal Giri
Trekking Guide
Gopal Giri, 35 years old, grew up in the hilly region of eastern Nepal Solukhumbhu. He worked as a trekking guide and was a local for more than five years in Nepal. With a number of travel companies, he has traveled most of Nepal’s major trekking paths. Giri has finished the trekking guide course in 2010 and became a government-licensed guide. He is well-known with the major trekking routes such as Annapurna Circuit Trek, Everest Basecamp Trek, Everest three pass trek, Manaslu Circuit Trek, Langtang valley trek,etc.
Born and grown up about the altitude of 2900 m, it has helped him to go mountains from childhood. He has finished high school with the faculty of education with the major subject English. He is very amiable which helps him to adjust with any clients and have fun on every trip.
Yadav Giri
Trekking Guide
He is originally from the Khumbu (Everest) Region. His journey as a climbing guide started for the first time as a porter and then as a kitchen boy. Gradually, he was promoted as an assistant guide. He worked very hard and soon he was able to speak English and took guide training. Then finally he was promoted as a trekking guide.
After several years working as a base camp cook and peak climbing guide with a couple of other companies, Yadav joined Mountain Ascend Treks in 2018. He holds a special license from the Ministry of Tourism of Nepal as a climbing guide and speaks good English.
Kumar Karki
Trekking Guide
Born in Solu, the Khumbu Region (Everest Region), Kumar karki is an expert in trekking in this region. He started his career as an assistant guide 12 years ago, now he is an experienced guide. A soft-spoken and helpful person, he has made his clients satisfied through his service in Annapurna. Langtang, Mustang, and Everest regions. Besides these, he has successfully completed the following courses:

Namkha
Climbing Guide
Born in Solu, the Khumbu Region (Everest Region), the village of 8000 m peak climbers, Namkha has climbing in his blood. He has successfully ascended the summits of the Island Peak (6187 m) 13 times and the Everest (8848.86 m) 2 times. Island Peak is a warm-up peak for those climbing Mt. Everest. On both these mountains, Namkha gives instructions to climbers and new climbing guides. The following courses have been successfully completed by him.

Basic and Advanced level ice climbing course – Khumbu Climbing Center
Trekking guide course – NATHM
Wilderness first aid course – Sentinel Outdoor Institute, Montana

Nima
Climbing Guide
Nima is an experienced mountaineer and 8448 meters Mountain climber with fourteen years of experience in climbing Himalayas. 26 years old, he is originally from Khumbu (Everest) Region. His journey as a climbing guide started for the first time as a porter and then as a kitchen boy. Gradually, he was promoted as an assistant guide. He worked very hard and soon he was able to speak English and took guide training. Then finally he was promoted as a trekking guide.
